Library History:
The Library was first established in 1942, and the first Librarian was Miss Dollye Porch. She was followed by Mrs. Gray in 1949, who was then followed by Mrs. Doris Crane in 1953. From 1983 to 2023, Mrs. Ethel Carmichael served as Director. In 2023, Whitney Bullion-Sager was named Library Director.
In 1968 the Humphreys County Public Library moved to its present location at 201 Pavo Street. In the fall of 2001, the new archives and genealogy room was added to the library. The library now encompasses 10,000 plus square feet and 50,000 plus books.
